Where does it come from: The farm is located in the northern area of Chalatenango, San Ignacio, and is run by one family – the father and his three older children. It is called EL PORTEZUELO because it is recognisable by the locals thanks to being at 2,400 metres above sea level, making it the highest point in the country. The farm has been in operation for more than 8 years. The story began when he and his brothers were unwilling to study and establish themselves as professionals to help their parents. The problem was that the high crime rate at the time prevented them from pursuing these ambitions. But their father, seeing that there were opportunities, motivated them to start their own farm. They had suitable plots of land that had never been farmed – fertile land surrounded by nature. Their father showed them how, thanks to the coffee trees, they could help maintain the water sources on the farm and turn this land into something meaningful. |
Best brew The 3rd place winner of the Cup Of Excellence 2024 El Salvador is perfect for both espresso and different types of filtration. As an espresso, it impresses with its balanced body, bright acidity and rich aftertaste. With methods such as V60, aeropress or Chemex, it reveals complex aromas and nuances, while the French press highlights deep flavour notes. Regardless of the preparation method, this coffee will offer you an exceptional taste experience. |

About the variety: Pacamara is a hybrid between Pacas and Maroga, known for its large beans and distinctive flavor. It originates from Central America, mainly El Salvador, and is grown at high altitudes, which gives the coffee bright acidity, balanced body and notes of citrus, fruit, chocolate and honey. The variety is preferred for making premium coffees due to its complexity and richness of flavors, and is suitable for both espresso and filtration methods. |
The taste El Salvador coffee impresses with bright notes of tropical fruits that bring freshness and sweetness, combined with subtle accents of vanilla for a mellow taste. The light citrus acidity adds balance and depth, making every sip a real pleasure. |
