Why did we choose it?
Kenya Kiruga Coffee is grown by a cooperative of farmers in Kenya, Africa. This coffee is grown in red volcanic soils, which give its taste specificity. The cultivation of this coffee is also characterized by the protection of the environment – farmers plant trees along the coffee bushes in order to increase the afforestation of the area.
The taste of this coffee is characterized by light fruity notes of brown sugar, vanilla and forest fruits
We recommend preparing this special coffee in a cezve, as an espresso or on a filter.
Where does it come from?
The farm is situated on the banks of the Gikira River, whose source is the Aberdare Ranges.
This district has cool temperatures and fertile central highlands, lying between the eastern base of the Aberdare (nyandarua) range, which forms part of the eastern end of the great rift valley, and the western slopes of Mount Kenya. The town of Nyeri acts as a destination for those visiting Aberdare National Park and Mount Kenya. This region has unique soils and very interesting nature, which gives a unique taste of the coffee.
